Few of Our Activities

Prevention of child crime:

Project at Chlidren's Prison: Artists of Indira Kala Sangeet Vishvavidyalaya Khairagarh, Computer experts of Surguja district and few girl students initiated a project at Bal Samprekshan Gruh Ambikapur which was appreciated by the honorable Chief Minister of Chhatiisgarh , Dr. Raman Singh, during his visit on 25th January 2005. Bal Samprekshan Gruh Ambikapur, is a rehabilitation center for boys below 18 years having various criminal backgrounds. On an average 60 such boys from 4 districts are kept in Bal Samprekshan Gruh (Chlidren's Prison) till the honorable special court completes its judgments process. Akash was able to incorporate values, attitude, education and health awareness based on psychological pedagogy. Various events organized by Akash were witnessed by the special guests, executives and state level public representatives.

Upliftment of PAHARI-KORVA tribals:

With the active involvement of Youth Awareness Cell of Akash along with students of Sangeet Vishvavidyalaya Khairagarh, a detailed survey on socio-economic condition of PAHARI-KORVA TRIBES was conducted. These tribes are on the verge of extinction and have been adopted by His Highness, The President of India. The maximum number of PAHARI-KORVA’s are in the interior parts of Lundra, Rajpur, Ramanujganj, and Batauli areas. During the survey, honorable Ex MLA Shri Bhola Singh of Lundra extended his full co-operation by organizing an event at PAHARI-KORVA Balak Ashram Karauli on 10th September 2004, which was attended by more than 2000 tribals. Akash played a key role in educating them to cultivate good quality sugarcane. Our continuous follow up resulted in an overall increase in acres of Sugarcane and upliftment in the economic condition of the tribals . During February 2006, Akash arranged a detailed survey of a few villages of Rajpur / Lundra Block and recorded their lifestyle in form of video.


Self-Help Group (SHG):

Akash helps in formation of Self-Help Groups (SHG) and helps those groups to update their register, books etc. Akash also guide them to start various schemes/activities pertaining to employment opportunities.
Akash has been active in providing guidance to other Non-Governmental Organization to create such SHG. Our next objective is to create a federation of such SHG for which the SHGs of Mungeli, Takhatpur, Pandaria, Kawardha, Lormi Tahsils have approached. Setting up of Retail Outlets in various Markets and Exhibitions are on hand. .One exhibition in Vyapar Mela during 2006-07 got good publicity .Paintings of SHG members were purchased by Foreign Visitors. Motivated with the response one Member has obtain Diploma in Painting from Indore and now planning to start his own training centre and exhibition. All above activities are regularly covered by the Media/Press etc.

Abhinav Kalyan Avam Samaj Seva Sanstha (Akash) is a registered organization in Bilaspur of Chhatisgarh state in India. Akash is engaged in activities related to education, health, agriculture, rural industries, prevention of child crime and implementation of employment-oriented schemes mainly in tribal areas of Sarguja, Bilaspur districts of Chhattisgarh state.
